| El análisis del crecimiento con modelos de regresión no lineal (MNL) permite derivar parámetros (PC) e indicadores (IC) de crecimiento bajo condiciones específicas de producción que pueden ser considerados en los programas de mejoramiento genético. Los objetivos de este estudio fueron seleccionar y ajustar un MNL al crecimiento de bovinos Tropicarne criados en la vertiente del Golfo de México. Los MNL evaluados fueron Brody, Logístico, Bertalanffy y Gompertz. La información de crecimiento analizada correspondió a 12890 pesos mensuales, del nacimiento a los 24 meses de edad de 1787 animales. | A biologia de caranguejos de água doce tem sido pouco enfocada na literatura carcinológica, especialmente em relação ao crescimento das espécies da família Trichodactylidae. Este estudo visa determinar as curvas de crescimento em tamanho e peso, bem como a longevidade e a idade na muda pubertária dos caranguejos de água doce Dilocarcinus pagei Stimpson, 1861. As amostras foram obtidas mensalmente na Represa Municipal de São José do Rio Preto (São Paulo), de outubro/1994 a setembro/1996. | Litopenaeus schmitti is one of the most commercially exploited penaeids on the southeastern and southern Atlantic coast of Brazil. Information about juvenile recruitment and growth patterns of individuals is important for management programs. The present study estimated the growth parameters, longevity, and recruitment of L. schmitti in the region of Ubatuba, São Paulo State. The growth parameters of individuals were estimated by the Bertalanffy growth model, and longevity was estimated with the inverted Bertalanffy equation. The growth parameters were, for females and males respectively: CL∞ = 53.10 mm and 43.23 mm, k = 1.82 year-1 and 2.19 years-1, t0= 1.10 and 0.69. | ABSTRACT This study aimed to estimate the growth and size at the onset of sexual maturity in a population of Aegla georginae . Specimens were sampled from November 2007 to October 2008 in the Perau Creek (Ibicuí-Mirim sub-basin; Uruguay River basin). All captured specimens were sexed, and their cephalothoracic length (CL), minor and larger propodi length (MPL, LPL, respectively), height of major chela (HMQ), and abdomen width (AW) were measured. The lengthwise growth of males and females was evaluated using the Bertalanffy model, and the morphological sexual maturity was evaluated using the REGRANS program. | ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to select the best non-linear model that fits the growth curve of turkeys managed under the tropical conditions of Southern Mexico. Data from 481 Hybrid converter turkeys (236 females and 245 males) reared under commercial conditions typical of that region were used. Turkeys were given ad libitum access to feed and water. Body weight was weekly recorded from 1 day to 23 weeks of age.
